A scholarship fund in Ed's name is planned for the near future. |

In Memory of Coach Ed Luksik Dear alumni and friends: It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you of the passing of Coach Luksik. Some might have already heard the news, but I am sure some have not. He passed peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning at his home in Pennsylvania, with his family by his side. The alumni night in Coach's honor that is scheduled for December 14th will go on as planned. We at Deer Park Wrestling (parents and coaches), and alumni Howie Greenblatt, Ray Downey, and Ted DiPasquale, have been working hard to plan a night worthy of Coach Luksik's legacy. We think we have. Alumni night was a night that I know Coach always looked forward to, first because he was such a fan of wrestling and second because he loved when his alumni got together to remember what wrestling was to us all at one time and to catch up and share stories with old friends, teammates, and coaches. As of December 14, 2007, the DP wrestling room will forever be known as the Coach Ed Luksik Wrestling Room. We had planned on dedicating the room from the start and wanted it to be a surprise to him and his family, but with Coach's passing we feel that everyone should know the plans for the night. It is the least we can do for a man so giant in stature. I hope to see the bleachers filled on December 14th with all alumni and friends of Deer Park wrestling, I have been told that members from Coach's family do plan on attending- lets make this a night to remember. Coach Luksik would have loved to have been at this event, and although he can no longer be with us physically I am sure he will be watching from the best seat in the house spiritually.
